Do-It-Yourself Car Maintenance and More!

The Auto Hobby Center is a do-it-yourself car-care facility located across the street from the main base gas station. All you need to get started working on your car is a safety card issued by the Auto Hobby Center. Free safety classes are offered Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5 pm and Saturdays at 2 pm. Once you’ve completed the class and receive your safety card, you are welcome to work on your vehicle in one of the six stalls -- no tools needed.
 When it comes time to sell or buy a vehicle, the Lemon Lot is the way to go. Call 226-4654 to get listed -- this $15 service advertises your auto here at 35FSS.com and on 35FSS Channel 16!

Jump Starting Service!
 Leave your lights on and now your car won't start? Or maybe that old battery couldn't take the cold... Whatever the reason, call the Auto Hobby's jump starting service at 616-3749 for assistance.

Classes Available from the
Auto Hobby Center

Automotive Familiarization Class
Second & Fourth Mondays, 12:30 - 2 pm / $20 /
No supplies needed
You’ll learn:
- How to check vital fluids on your vehicle
- How to check and replace your air filter
- How to determine proper tire size and air pressure
- Where to find the spare tire and emergency tire changing     equipment
- How to change a flat tire
- How to properly jump start a vehicle with a dead
   battery

Oil Changing Class
First & Third Mondays, 11 am - 12:30 pm
$20 for gasoline engine / $26 for diesel engine
You must bring your own oil filter, which can be purchased at the main base gas station. The Auto Hobby Center will supply the engine oil.

Safety Class - FREE
Tuesday s & Thursdays, 5 pm • Saturdays, 2 pm
This short 15-minute safety class is required before patrons can use the facility. No need to sign up in advance! Just show up during one of the times listed above, and we’ll get you started.

NOTE: Patrons must register and pay for all classes in advance (except for the Safety Class). No refunds will be given unless they are requested five days before the class starts. If the class is canceled by the instructor or if there are not enough students, the customer can request a refund or simply stay on the list until the next scheduled class.


1.

Schedule a pre-inspection appointment at the Auto Hobby Center. For only $50, we’ll check to see if there are any items on your vehicle that need to be repaired so that your car will pass the JCI inspection.
2.
Either make these repairs yourself or take your vehicle to the shop of your choice for these repairs. (Cost of repairs will vary and will be the responsibility of the customer.)

3.
When all needed repairs are made, make an appointment with the Pit Stop Garage with our Certified Inspector. They will inspect your vehicle, file all required paperwork and pay all associated taxes and fees.
4.
Pick up your vehicle and you are good for another
2 years! It's as simple as that!
