Your pet's home away from home!

The Misawa Pet Kennel provides boarding services on
a space-available basis for cats and dogs of U.S. military personnel, SOFA-sponsored civilians, and their adult dependents (ages 18 and over).
We welcome dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds. Our primary goal is to make sure your pet has a comfortable and safe home away from home.
We have 26 dog kennels and 14 cat condos available for our furry friends. In addition, we provide supplies, bowls, bedding, and toys. Our spacious dog kennels have comfy rubber mats that are cleaned daily. Dogs are walked three times daily and are given free time to run and play outside in a large, fenced-in exercise area. Our feline friends lodge in roomy cat condos.
You can rest assured that the Misawa Pet Kennel staff will provide loving care for your pet while you are away.

RESERVATIONS:
Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
A deposit equal to half the cost of the expected stay is required with your reservation.
Final payment is due before the release of your pet.
PRIOR TO BOARDING YOUR PET:
Your pet must be registered at the Misawa Vet Clinic (excludes pets PCSing in).

For dogs, owners must provide proof that the dog has a current rabies vaccination, canine distemper vaccination, and kennel cough vaccination (within the last 6 months).

For cats, owners must provide proof that the cat has current vaccinations for rabies and feline distemper vaccination.
Your pet must be bathed and free of external parasites, and be on some type of flea and tick prevention.
Owners must complete and sign the boarding agreement.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURES:
Bring adequate food and medication for the duration of your pet’s stay as well as feeding instructions.

Bring a current printout, with your pet’s name, from the vet clinic where your pet last received services or care.

All pets must be leashed or in a carrier while bringing them into the kennel.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

No stray, lost, or homeless animals can board at the facility.
Malicious pets will not be boarded. Determination will be at the discretion of the kennel personnel.
No one will be authorized to remove boarded pets from kennel premises except for emergencies. However, a person may be designated to visit or to exercise pet(s) on kennel premises.
Children under the age of twelve are not allowed in boarding areas at any time.
No smoking is allowed in this facility.
Boarded pets will not be allowed to run loose outside the designated areas.
Visitation is limited to the daily operating hours.
Owners are the only ones allowed to check in / out boarded pets. Pets will not be accepted from children or friends. Exceptions might be made on a case-by-case basis.
Because the kennel personnel are responsible for the health and safety of the pets boarded, the pets will not leave the kennel exercise yard for the duration of their stay.
The kennel will not be held responsible for items left with the pet (to include leashes, blankets, toys, bowls, etc.).
Pets will not be boarded for more than 90 days without a break in boarding for 30 days.

New arrivals will be given an initial 30 day reservation; if more time is needed, the staff will work with each individual on a space-available basis.
