Sports and recreation choices abound!

If you’re a sports, fitness or outdoor adventure enthusiast, then Misawa Air Base is the place for you. With intramural sports, fitness programs and trips offered year round, Services is sure to have just the right program for you.
Whether you’re a high-handicapper or a seasoned pro, the Gosser Memorial Golf Course is challenging and fun for people of all ages and skill levels. Short on time? Practice your swing at the driving range, hit some chips or practice your putting on the practice green.
Outdoor Recreation offers everything from swim lessons at the base pool to shooters’ clinics at the Skeet & Trap Range. Some popular programs include kayaking trips and fishing tours, the Hakkoda Mountains Adventure Hike, and ski and snowboarding trips.
The Weasels’ Den is a spacious indoor playground and recreation facility suitable for all ages. Batting cages, arcade games, indoor paintball and climbing walls appeal to the big kids. Younger kids will flip for the two-story, multi-slide jungle gym, indoor tree house, and putt-putt golf – this is the perfect place for indoor play (especially during bad weather) and of course, the best spot on base for birthday parties! This facility is closed for renovation through 30 October, but please join us on 31 Octoberat noon for the ribbon cutting and Harvest Fest!
Love to bowl? Join one of the nightly leagues at Walmsley Bowling Center. Or, if you’re into a more laid back, non-competitive atmosphere, try Monday Madness or Sunday Family Day. The Bowling Center offers specials almost every day of the week. While you’re there, grab a delicious snack at the Walmsley Café.
Keep the kids active with Youth Sports, offering eleven different sports throughout the year, and Smart Start sports for 3 & 4 year olds. Look for the Youth Sports handbook link on the Youth Sports page for more information.

To help keep you in shape and healthy, the Potter and Freedom Fitness Centers offer a variety of group fitness classes and exercise programs. Check out the class schedule on the fitness page, which is updated monthly.
