Mt. Kurikoma (elevation 1,626 meters) straddles Miyagi, Iwate and Akita prefectures. People refer to the sight of the mountain completely covered in fall foliage as “the Carpet of the Gods.” On the way back we will stop by a wild hot spring, a hot waterfall flowing straight out of a volcano. In all actuality, you have a whole river to splash around in and it’s all hot.
