Physical Training Reservations

Reservations are available:

Up to three lanes

To schedule a reservation, stop by Outdoor Recreation or call 226-3152. Physical Training (PT) reservations are available during the designated times above for up to 60 minutes per lane. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advanced by calling 226-3152 or stopping by the Himberg Pool. When not reserved, fitness swim lanes are available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are for group activities only and not for individual fitness training.

Not sure which level to enroll in? Let our swim instructor help you with a FREE skill assessment. Please note, age requirements still apply for specific levels. 

We can try to accommodate you at a more convenient time if we have an instructor available. Call 226–3152 for availability.

50 MILE SWIM CLUB

2020 50 Mile Swim Club
Thank you, participants! The swimmers who logged the most distance will be announced at registration for the 2021 50 Mile Swim Club. See the names posted at the Himberg Pool.

Registration opens Monday, Jan. 4
$25 per person
If you’re looking for a fun fitness challenge, try the 50 Mile Swim Club! Reach your fitness goals this year, or just challenge your friends to a race against the calendar by tracking your laps in the pool throughout the year. Trophies will be awarded to the first three finishers and every swimmer to meet 50 miles will take home a congratulatory T-shirt and bragging rights. Think you have what it takes to swim farther than anyone else on base? Don’t stop swimming after you get to 50! Additional trophies will be awarded to the three competitors who swim the farthest over the course of 2021. Registration is open throughout the year, but you will have to catch up to your competitors, so sign up early at the Outdoor Recreation Center.

Family Fun Night

Don’t worry if it gets chilly outside, it’s still summer at the Himberg Pool on Friday nights! Suit up the whole family and grab inflatables, water pistols, and your favorite pool toys before entering this fun zone!

The Fish Bowl

The Fish Bowl can accommodate up to 16 people and features a service counter, small refrigerator, microwave, oven, TV, DVD player and picnic tables. Rental includes use of the party room for two hours.

Swim Lessons

Be patient with us and our staff as we transition to this modified swim lesson schedule. If you are unable to enroll in the class you wanted please add yourself to the wait list. We will do our best to adjust accordingly and accommodate your needs.

*Due to present social distancing guidelines we will not have open swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays during swim lessons.

Rules & Policies

Age & Supervision Requirements

  • All children ages 10 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Children unable to stand in the water must be within arm’s length of an adult at all times.
  • Children ages 12 and under must pass the PACAF Deep Water Test and possess a current PACAF Deep Water Access Card to use the deep end of the pool.
  • Children ages 13 and older (and children ages 11 or 12 with a valid PACAF Deep Water Access Card) may remain at the facility unattended.

Pool Rules

  1. No diving into shallow water.
  2. Parents are responsible for watching their young children at all times.
  3. No breath-holding or prolonged underwater swimming.
  4. Do not enter the pool if there is no lifeguard on duty.
  5. Shower before entering the pool.
  6. Flotation devices are limited to USGC-approved personal flotation devices only.
  7. No personal water or pool toys allowed.
  8. Glass lens diving masks may be used only by lap swimmers and during scuba training activities.
  9. No food, drinks or glass containers allowed in the pool area.
  10. No running on the pool deck.
  11. Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only.
  12. Children who are not toilet trained must wear tight-fitting swim diapers.
  13. Individuals with obvious evidence of a cold, flu or other communicable disease including open sores, lesions and fungal skin infections are prohibited from entering the pool.
  14. Violations will result in suspension of pool use.
