There is an abundance of activities, classes and events catered to youth and teens in the 35th Force Support Squadron on Misawa Air Base! Make it your mission to check off all of the boxes on the To Do List to participate in all of the exciting activities.
Arts & Crafts Center
Mighty Tots is a weekly class for for ages 18 months to five years old. Each half-hour class has a theme and provides 2-3 crafts that are catered to children’s skill development.
Mini Monet is offered twice a month for ages 6-12. This fully instructed class gives children the opportunity to paint a different masterpiece each month.
Picasso Painting is a fully instructed class for teens ages 12-17. Teens will paint something new each month as they hone in on their artistic abilities.
Overstreet Memorial Library
The Makerspace Room in the Overstreet Memorial Library offers STEM programs for youth and teens.
LEGO Club
Fill the lego wall in the Makerspace with Legos during LEGO Club the fourth Thursday of every month for all ages.
STEM Club Jr.
The Makerspace offers several fun ways to introduce STEM concepts in STEM Club Jr. for ages 4-6. STEM Club Jr. includes 3D Pens, K’Nex and LEGO, and KIBO Robot Kits.
STEM Club
For ages 7 and above, the STEM Club is held the second Thursday of every month. STEM club is a great opportunity for kids to explore concepts such as design, programming, electronics and other concepts. STEM Club includes advanced 3D Pens, Ozobot Robots and Snap Circuits.
Makers’ Club
Makers’ Club is the first Saturday of every month for ages 14 and above. Learn advanced concepts such as 3D modeling, 3D printing, electronics and more!
Community Commons
Kids’ Bingo is held monthly at the Community Commons for all ages. Play five rounds of fun-filled bingo to win awesome prizes!
Community Commons Cinema Catch up on the latest movies for teens and kids. Movies are offered every Saturday and Sunday.
Taiko Drum Class Impress your friends back home with your new taiko drum skills! Taiko Drum class is offered at the Community Commons every Wednesday for ages eight and above.
Himberg Pool
Second Sunday Sundaes Escape the cold at Second Sunday Sundaes held monthly at the Himberg Pool! All ages can enjoy FREE ice cream sundaes while lounging poolside.
Pool Party & Battleship Mayhem On the last Friday of every month, the Himberg Pool provides snacks and the chance to take out your frustrations in an all-out war on the low seas. The pool party is free and open to all ages. Now is your time to cut loose!
Outdoor Recreation
Area 35 Come check out our brand new facility at the Grand Opening of Area 35 on Friday, April 17! (See page 13 for more details) Ages 16 and above can participate in paintball, skeet and trap, and archery. Ages 10 and above must be accompanied by an adult.
Area 35 is open every weekend starting April 17 until the fall. Challenge your friends to a battle of the paints!
Disc Golf All ages can participate in Disc Golf at the Disc Golf Course near the The Lodge. Need a disc, equipment or score cards? We have a huge selection of discs, gear and everything you need to play the northernmost course in Japan in our Gear Shop at the Outdoor Recreation Center.
Lunney Youth Center
Become a Lunney Youth Center Member to participate in youth and teen clubs for free!
Clubs include Power Hour, Smart Girls, Wise Guys, Sports Club, Drama Matters and more. The youth center provides a safe, fun and education after school environment for kids and teens.
